 The speaker claims that technology cannot change the condition of humanity, in my opinion, although there are still lots of ugly things with us, we cannot ignored the significant positive impact that the modern industrial and computer revolutions have had on the quality life—at least in the developed world.

Admittedly, I agree with the statement insofar as there is no technological solution to the enduring problems of war, poverty, and violence, for the reason that they stem from certain aspects of human nature—such as aggressions and greed. With the help of developing technological, those ugly things happened more frequently. And the influences are more severity than ever before. We have to bear the deeply hart caused by such as 911 and Subway bombing incident happened in Madrid, London and other major city all of the world. It is seems that technological can only bring us untold suffering, but when we look back on 100 years of history, It will be not surprise to find that the technological has changed our social deeply, including Humanity.

Firstly, technological innovation has enhanced the overall standard of living and comfort level of all the countries, whether developed or developing. Thanks to the developing of agriculture, we have an ability to feed more than 4 billion people which is Twice of the whole population in 1900. Thanks to the contribution of modern industry, peoples’ life became more comfortable and the wealth of social has increasing so rapidly. Thanks to the innovations of medicine, people no longer suffered by lots of disease, such as Black Death, Smallpox, Impaludism and so on. Since people can enjoy a batter life than ever before, it is absolutely to encourage people to make the progress of humanity.

In addition, with the development of information science especially the computer revolutions, t the overall condition of humanity is getting better. Peace and development have become the theme of the times. When face with disputes and conflicts, nations are choosing cooperation and negotiation instead of confrontation and war. The world is moving deep into multiplicity, and the communication among different nation has become more wide and deeply.

Of course, such progress has not come without costs. Every technological innovation helping to reduce human suffering will bring some new problem to us. We at least have to face with pollution, increasing population and the problem of the short of resource. Only with the help of technological, can we solve those problems.

In sum, from what have been discuss above, we can draw the conclusion that the development of technological have improving the condition of humanity, but to solve problems of our social ,we still have a long way to go. It needs people’s understanding and cooperation.
